Adding Style to Your Outlook Mails through Images and Sounds
For a long while now, you may have been sending your emails in the same standard, plain text format. However, after receiving emails with fancy backgrounds and sounds to accompany text, you have been wondering if you too could add some style to your Outlook mails. For example, the HTML format in Microsoft Outlook allows you make text stand out in different colors, bold or italics. You could change the font, add inline images and use different formatting that allows you to present your text in an extremely readable manner. Let us look at how we can add a background image and sound to your emails.
First of all, make sure that you are not using Word as your default email editor. Now, using HTML formatting, start composing your new mail message. Click in the body of the message and go to the main Outlook menu. Now, choose Format -> Background -> Picture' This will bring up the list of folders and files contained in them. Select the image that you want to use as the background for your email. Your email messages will now carry this image as the background and you can type in the text in the body of the message.
Having added a background image to your mails, you might now be thinking of adding some sound to your emails. While Outlook does not have a direct menu command that will let you add the sound, you can still very easily add some sound effects to your message. This time around, it will be a lot easier if you use Word as your email editor. When you choose to create a new mail message, in the 'View' menu, go to Toolbars and select Web Tools. You will see many options on the Web Toolbar, one of which is the 'Sound' option. Click on the 'Sound' option and when the 'Background Sound' dialog box opens up, select the sound file that you would like to be played. You should however bear in mind that sound files can be fairly large ' choose a sound file of reasonable size so that the size of the entire email does not exceed the recipient's server limits. You can make the sound file loop as many times as you want; selecting 'Infinite' will mean the sound file plays forever.
